TOWARDS JERICHO19 — 25 June
Carlton, Naarm
Curated by Georgia Mulholland and Samar Abedrabo

Towards Jericho is a group exhibition showcasing the work of 26 emerging and established artists from across the Levant and so-called Australia, whose practices engage in acts of solidarity with Palestine through visual, political, and cultural resistance.

Curated by Georgia Mulholland and Samar Abedrabo, the exhibition meditates on the notion of homeland—honouring ancestry, holding memory, and imagining the possibility of return.

Jericho—one of the world’s oldest cities—serves as both metaphor and anchor. For Palestinians, it represents the liminal space between exile and return: the final checkpoint before departure, and the first threshold upon coming home.

Within diasporic and transnational contexts, Jericho becomes a site of longing—for rootedness, belonging, and the continuity of cultural memory.

All works are available through silent auction, with 100% of proceeds supporting crisis aid for a family in Gaza through the work of Made in Palestine.

Towards Jericho
is a curatorial project grounded in care, cultural preservation, and creative defiance—an echo of return, even when return feels impossible.

CURATORS

Towards Jericho is co-curated from Naarm and Bethlehem, embodying the transnational scope of both the exhibition and the work of Made in Palestine. This collaborative curatorial approach integrates perspectives from within Palestine and the diaspora, facilitating a critical dialogue between artists situated in their homeland and those shaped by displacement.

Georgia Mulholland

Georgia Mulholland is a curator, multidisciplinary artist, community organiser and humanitarian worker. Drawing on a background in design (BA) and Masters studies in International Humanitarian Law, her curatorial work centres on themes of resistance, memory, and identity within contexts of displacement and dispossesion.

Since 2019, Georgia has served as the Program Director of Made in Palestine, a non-profit organisation that provides direct support to Palestinian families. Through this work, she has curated public events and educational initiatives that foreground Palestinian voices and encourage cross-cultural solidarity.

Her curatorial practice is embedded in long-term collaborations, with a focus on creating spaces that foster critical dialogue, community care, and artistic exchange. She works across disciplines and geographies, bringing together artists, organisers, and storytellers whose work speaks to lived experience, political urgency, and cultural resilience.

Towards Jericho is the latest in a series of exhibitions curated by Georgia that foregrounds voices often silenced or erased. Bringing together visual works by artists from Palestine, the Levant, and the broader region, the exhibition reflects on identity, land, longing, and resistance across diasporic and local contexts.
Samar Abedrabo

Samar Abedrabo is a Bethlehem-based cultural worker with experience managing both humanitarian and arts initiatives. She currently serves as the Palestine-based Project Manager for Made in Palestine, and as the Coordination and Administrative Assistant at Wonder Cabinet, where she supports the development of community-engaged cultural programming.

Her curatorial practice is rooted in care, cultural memory, and collective resistance. Drawing on her lived experience in Palestine, she views art as a vital space for connection, visibility, and storytelling within—and beyond—contexts of occupation. Samar’s work bridges logistical coordination with curatorial sensitivity, ensuring that artistic practices are supported by strong community ties and local knowledge.

Towards Jericho marks her first co-curation of an international exhibition. Alongside her curatorial role, she supports Arabic translation, artist liaison, and on-the-ground coordination, grounding the exhibition in relationships with Palestinian artists and communities.
